Bio

Jenna Powell grew up in Essex County Massachusetts.  She was educated at The School of Visual Arts, NYC, holds a M Art Ed. & MFA from Lesley University School of Education and School of Art + Design in MA. She was trained in fabrication, ceramic shell, resin-bonded and green sand casting at The Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture in Mercerville, NJ.

Museums, artists, architects, zoos, aquariums, and private businesses contract Powell to provide a multitude of services including design, fabrication, consultation, teaching, and visiting artist liaison.  She was a sculpture technician and instructor at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston from 1999-2006.

She has been a visiting critic at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, since 2006.  As an artist and instructor with Youth Art in Action, Powell received The Presidents Committee on the Arts and Humanities Coming up Taller Award in 2005.  She created the Patrick Murphy Foundation Award and was honored by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation for her design entry in the World Trade Center Memorial Competition.

Powell enjoys officiating soccer at a variety of levels while actively mentoring young and emerging referees.
